Nice Shadows in the Glacier Bay National Park

Glacier Bay National Park
Brady Icefield and Brady Glacier in the Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska, USA

In this image (click for a bigger view) you can see the Brady Ice Field and the Brady Glacier as well as other glaciers in the Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve in Alaska, USA (Google Maps).

The image has very dominant shadows, which makes it quite interesting to look at in my opinion. Very visible in the bottom part is the Brady Glacier, which is almost 40 kilometers long.

In the upper part of the image, partly hidden in the shadows, you can see the John Hopkins Glacier, a 19 kilometers long tidewater glacier.

Take a look at this Earth Observatory article for more information and some images of the Glacier Bay National Park taken from aboard the International Space Station.
